Differences between blueback paper and white paper for billboards

• Blueback Paper : Also known as blue back paper , this paper is designed for printing advertising posters. The blue back prevents transparency, making it ideal for covering old posters or multiple billboards without showing through. It is the preferred choice for outdoor displays, such as 6x3 posters, due to its water resistance and durability.

• White Poster Paper : White poster paper has no colored backing and is used for simpler posters, often indoors or for advertisements that require high image quality and finer detail. Without the blue screening, this paper is less effective for covering older posters but is highly regarded for its visual quality.

Definition of banding:

Banding is a technical phenomenon in digital printing that manifests itself as a slight variation in the density or hue of colors on printed surfaces. This alternation of hues is due to the way the ink is deposited and the configuration of the print head, resulting in thin visible bands, especially on uniform backgrounds and shaded colors.
